How much does a BBall court cost?

Ok, so I know this is supposed to be the honeymoon period, but I can't get over the new indoor basketball court being built into the white house. I mean, I am sure it won't be just ANY court...it will be THE court. Screw YMCA standards, it will probably hold many priceless basketball relics-special floors, special locker room styled after some famous locker room, and it will be able to hold like thousands of people incase there is ever a real game there for a publicity stunt. Not only will it cost money to build it, but also money to tear down the damn bowling alley.
Hypocrite.
I am sure there are many neighborhoods out there that need basketball courts...even the OUTDOOR kind.

What about spreading the wealth around?????

And the winner is...

Ok, so Barrack Obama won the election. (In case you live under a rock)
This is not totally disappointing to me considering I found myself rooting for anyone but Obama and McCain. But, the good news is- history has been made. No one, in my opinion, can screw up as bad as Bush (we will see...all in due time). But, I am proud of my country for voting the first African-American president in to office. Sure, I don't dig his policies, but he is going to be our president and I will support him...until he jacks up BIG. Then I will be back to my old self...hating on those in charge for being the ones in charge.

I am happy that the world can see that our country isn't predominately racist- and that racists can see that our country isn't predominately racist...maybe they will look around and say "wait, it's 2008?? We better get our act together bc I am tired of being ignorant.."

Gov. Palin's wardrobe- WHO GIVES A SH*T!

I don't get it.
I am tired of being silenced when I ask questions about Bill Ayers, Raila Odinga, or ACORN with responses like "Get over it, it has been talked about enough, it is a none issue..." But, the same people deflecting these issues are now raising the biggest stink about Sarah Palin's clothes.
It is vomit worthy.
Who cares?? As if Obama or McCain pay for their own suits (give me a break supporters, you can't tell me for a fact how many suits have been bought or how much they were.) Everyone feels like they "know" their candidates and they have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. This is because she is a woman- women's clothes are notoriously more expensive. If she went out there in jeans she would be criticized for being unprofessional.
Come on people. This is low.

I think it is possible that we are what we complain about- Frivilous Bull.

Quick question-

What comes first? The Senator or the Presidential candidate?
McCain suspended his campaign in order to go back to Washington and help with the crisis, Obama believes it is now more than ever to campaign.

I am a mother, a wife, a student, and a manager. What happens if my child gets sick at school? Am I a mother or an employee first? Is there a line? For example, if my kid has the sniffles then I am an employee..but, if my kid is on fire then I am a mom?

Does our country have the sniffles or is it on fire right now?

Ok Ok, enough is enough...

Michelle Obama made top-ten of People's best-dressed list. Her look is considered "Classic and confident." Is this a partisan choice or is Mrs. Obama really one of the best-dressed? Jackie O. was an American fashion icon during her reign as first lady- is People trying to draw a comparison there?
Between this and Palin's glasses, does anyone know what is really going on? Do we, as women, really want to know this stuff? Is it a way to stay "up" on politics without having to sift through the issues, debates, and mud-slinging? It's not politics. It is fashion. Choosing a president because you like the way his wife or his VP dresses makes me sick to my stomach. C'mon ladies...
Like I have said, I am not leaning to the right or the left as of now. I think one candidate will throw our country into total, utter, and complete economic ruin and the other will rule with his Bible..despite the seperation of church and state.

In the end, people will vote how they want to and they have a right to do so.

So, I was right-
People are requesting Sarah Palin's hair and glasses!

Girl Talk

Anyone catch the View with John and Cindy McCain? I like to catch up on my "hot topics" while I work out and the kids nap. I was surprised that they didn't lob any softballs, even from Hasselbeck (a known ultra-conservative). I was glad to see the women asking real questions, and not just snuggling up with him on the couch. Real women tune in and those who may not watch CNN got a good look into what this guy may be about.
Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCkgtisIz5A

They also raised another good question- When is Tina Fey going to play Palin on SNL???

Remember how everyone went out and got the "Rachel" (Jennifer Anniston's hairstyle from Friends)? I am wondering if people are going out and getting the "Palin"?? Cute bangs, glasses, etc. I also wouldn't mind the "Cindy" when I am her age! These women are gorgeous! It is nice to see that you don't have to look like Janet Reno to be taken seriously in politics anymore.

True or False: Does Obama want to teach kindergardeners comprehensive sex education or does he want to teach them how to ward off predators? Is it the government's job? The responsibility has always been with the parents to teach their kids to yell "STRANGER!".

I am all about reinforcing this in every outlet, but I also this that 6 is alittle young to be learning about the birds and the bees- they are growing up too fast as it is!

Apples and Oranges

When I am on the road going to and from school, I can not help but notice all the bumper stickers for McCain and Obama. I wish there was a candidate I support so fully that I would want the world to know! I would shout from the roof tops "VOTE FOR ___!" "He/She is for all marriage, women's rights, the Fair Tax, and drilling!"
Unfortunately for me, both candidates this time around both hold similar beliefs as I do...which also means I disagree with both of them on big issues. So, I am waiting for something big. Maybe an October surprise or something to really make me say "I don't love him, but man... it is better than that other guy."

Where does one draw the line? Should I vote for the guy that will (hopefully) bring the troops home faster? Or, should I vote for the guy who will expedite a solution for the gas "problem" that is going on?

Take it from an ex-cheerleader...

I have never heard the word "lipstick" so many times in 24 hours until recently. I was thinking...pit bull with lipstick? Pig with lipstick? Let me start by saying I would NEVER buy any products tested on animals ;)

My name is Jo. I am a young mother of two and a TOTAL cliche. My husband and I met in high school. I was captain of the cheer leading squad and he was that really hot smart guy. I could ask him anything and he always knew the answer! I came to count on him for everything when it came to math, the environment, and...the big one...Politics. I trusted that he knew his stuff and he would fill me in, when nothing better was on TV.

Well, after being a media major for a while I found out that I LIKE POLITICS. I actually get it! And, the shocker, my husband and I don't see eye to eye on every issue! I had to learn how to gather my own info in order to debate with him on issues we felt strongly about. No more "I like it because I just do" on my side any more! I had facts! And, that is a really sexy thing, ladies!

So, I am starting a blog...

Welcome to Politics and Lipstick!
